About this event

Update: We are now pleased to reveal our programme. Please register by midnight, 24th August to be assured a place.

Digital events in the last few months have created new opportunities and new horizons, and it seems unlikely that we will return to business as usual once the pandemic ceases. Many of us are conscious of the environmental impact of academia, and the ongoing climate crisis makes it increasingly unsustainable to maintain travel-based research practices. Additionally, employers, both within and without academia, are looking for those with skills, aptitude, and experience in delivering virtual experiences.

This event will deliver practical advice from experts on what types of online event can be organised, and how to do so. Across online teaching, training, conferences, public engagement events and creative events, the speakers will be sharing their experience and advice for postgraduates to make the most of the new landscape.

Timetable:

09:45-10:00: Welcome

10:00 - 11:00: Public Engagement and Creative Events

11:30 - 12:30: Recent Online Events in Scottish HE

14:00 - 15:00: Accessibility and Sustainability in Online Events

15:30 - 16:30: The Future of Digital Learning

16:30-16:45: Closing Remarks

The event will be delivered on Zoom. Sessions will be recorded where permission is given by the speaker and made available for later viewing.
